CAST presents the Regional Premiere of ”O Guru Guru Guru — or why I don’t want to go to yoga class with you” by Mallery Avidon — above with cast and Artistic Director Michael R. Simmons — fresh from the Humana Festival of New American Plays.
“O GURU GURU GURU” is a marvelously funny comedy told in a way that suits CAST’s brand of experiential theatre. Mirroring some of Avidon’s real life childhood, our hero Lila grew up in an ashram. If Lila has learned anything in life it is this: Attending yoga classes does not make you a Guru! Or a Yogi. Or even a person prepared for the future. Or at least Lila wasn’t prepared for her future and she isn’t shy about sharing that fact with anyone who will listen!
Take this unusual journey with a spiritual cast of characters including all the extras from the movie “Eat, Pray, Love.”
Performances are through Dec. 14, 2013.
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8 p.m.
Tickets: $28 adults; $22 seniors (60+); $18 (students)
